[02:10.980]Pray for my nigga Uno too, man, y'know

[02:34.273]And even if I ain't say your name, you know what's up with me
[02:36.647]
[02:36.863][Verse 5]
[02:36.990]I pray to God to rake my steps on this path I'm going
[02:39.077]Gimme peace of mind, so that I stay focused
[02:41.899]Gimme discipline, so that I keep going
[02:44.217]To the gym even when results ain't showin'
[02:47.181]Lord, gimme the faith I need to move mountains
[02:49.991]Gimme financial freedom, know that there's no accountant that's more able than you
[02:53.387]There's no problems on this Earth greater than you
[02:56.415]And if you shall will, then
[02:57.843]Let me do everything on this Earth that I was created to do
[03:00.032]Help me change lives, like you changed minds
[03:02.527]Like you changed mines, how could I forget?
[03:05.225]How you made a millionaire out of 15 cent
[03:07.720]When a dollar and a dream wasn't always what it seem
[03:10.306]Sometime I couldn't see, but I still believed
[03:12.807]And then you made it real, you gave me everything I need
[03:16.036]And all I had to have was a faith of a mustard seed
[03:18.157]
[03:18.396][Verse 6]
[03:19.683]So the point of this album is to have faith
[03:22.270]No matter what field of work you in
[03:24.305]No matter what you doin' in life
[03:26.131]Have faith in it, and believe in it, at all times
[03:28.850]And especially having God in your life first
[03:31.096]Because in a world full of the Devil doing God knows what
[03:34.115]As long as you keep God first, you'll be alright
[03:37.116]I've always had the ultimate confidence
[03:41.696]I've always believed in myself
[03:44.372]And I always try to be the best I can be
[03:47.033]It was instilled in me as a kid
[03:48.129]
[03:48.321][Verse 7]
[03:49.688]When I was making this album, man
[03:52.179]I went through three different titles
[03:54.171]And about a hundred different emotions
[03:56.477]And I just remember a conversation I had with Neil
[03:58.656]When he was doing "Perfect Ten"
[04:00.398]Said, "Man you should name your album, 'Faith of a Mustard Seed'"
[04:02.697]At that very moment, I didn't know exactly what he meant by it
[04:06.203]But I knew it was something out the Bible
[04:08.145]When I went and I did my research on what "Faith of a Mustard Seed" meant
[04:12.299]It says that "with a faith of a mustard seed, God will allow you to move mountains"
[04:17.564]And I feel like where I come from, I moved just about every mountain that was in my way
[04:22.981]And still movin' em, with the faith of God
[04:25.403]
[04:25.586][Verse 8: DJ Mustard, DJ Mustard's Mom]
[04:26.895]You know when I was young, you know, when I say: "First giving honor to God"
[04:29.758]To Ms. Carol who had first brought me and my Mom's
[04:31.716]You know that was like, that's a real thing
[04:33.604]You know how I moved from The Jungles, to West LA
[04:35.715]And I met this lady named Carol, her son was a drummer at the church
[04:38.446]And I remember one day I seen her going to church, she was like
[04:40.845]"You wanna go to church with me?" And I'm like "Yeah", and I went
[04:43.770]You know I really went because I really wanted to be the drummer
[04:45.828]But Jermaine was always the drummer, So I never became the drummer, or whatever
[04:49.043]But I, uhm, I went, and I became a member of Believers Community Baptist Church
[04:53.928]And after I went a few times, and I became a real member of the Church
[04:57.653]I got baptized
[04:59.163]And I think after that I told my mom
[05:00.763]Where I-, guess, my mom was at the baptize ceremony
[05:02.725]But I asked my mom, "Mom, you wanna go to church?"
[05:05.696]And she was like "Yeah I'd go"
[05:07.680]You know my mom never stopped going to church, even when I stopped
[05:11.042]You know so
[05:13.476]I guess that was like a sign from God
[05:16.124]And it also brought me and my mom closer
[05:18.415]You know she lived by
[05:19.551][?] you know I'm prayin' for you (You know I'm praying for you always)
[05:21.602]And I don't know, you know, my mom probably gonna be mad at me
[05:23.634]But she used to be real bad at like cussin' us out, me and my sisters would hear her start cussin' like "Get yo' ass in the house" (Get yo' ass in the house)
[05:28.289]You know that type of thing
[05:29.386]But uh, you know, once she, once sh- she went to church, it kinda like changed her for the better
[05:35.269]You know and it, uhh, softened her up a lil' bit
[05:38.009]And I never told her that but uh
[05:40.785]I think that was the best thing that ever happened to me and her
[05:43.683]You know cause it was me and her, my sister moved to Atlanta with her husband and stuff
[05:47.216]And had her own family
[05:48.560]Recently just moved em' back here to be closer to us, but
[05:51.124]You know, uhm, not to make it about that but
[05:55.724]For the most part, man I just wanted everybody out there, you know
[05:58.241]You been watchin' me this whole time
[05:59.753]Studying my career, and you watched my whole journey
[06:02.518]You've seen me grow, you've seen who I am, you've seen who I'd become
[06:06.961]You've seen how I mean to my kids, cause I ain't have a father
[06:09.657]I had my uncle, but he taught me how to be a father
[06:11.753]And uhh, I always admired that about him, that he took me in like I was his son that he never had cause he only got daughters
[06:17.766]But uhm, it made me be the best father that I could be, and know that, you know
[06:23.446]Not to never take that for granted, cause all you got is time
[06:26.537]And you can't get time back
[06:28.620]Uhm, but to the fans, you know, the little kids, the little producers in the hood
[06:34.472]That look at me and, look at it like it's too far
[06:37.905]It's really not, I came exactly from where you come from
[06:40.543]And anything is possible when you're with the faith
[06:42.899]And hard work gonna always be talent, everytime
[06:49.395]So I want you to understand, you know
[06:51.283]You can put anything you put your mind to
[06:53.272]"Faith of a Mustard Seed" is a testimony of me, just, you know, growing and bein'
[06:56.993]Who I knew I always could be, and who I was always gonna try to be
[06:59.936]No matter what, nobody could've gotten in the way of me being who I am
[07:03.194]And to show you that nobody can get in the way of you
[07:06.232]Until next time
[07:07.680]
[07:07.928][Outro]
[07:10.620]And oh yeah, if you ever in doubt of when I'm thinking about you
[07:13.588]Just know I'm praying for you
[07:16.381]So you should pray for me too
[07:17.983]
[07:18.544][Instrumental Outro]

Pray for me
Pray for me
Pray for me
I want to know with them good (Yeah)

First, give an honor to God
To Ms. Carol who had first brought me and my moms
To the church, where I know I ain't been in so long
I just pray that when I call, they still pick up the phone, yeah
With judgement comin' from all angles
I never defend myself for approval from strangers
When they 'on't give a damn about my kids
Since you ain't gotta pray for me, just pray for them
And pray for my mom, and pray for my sis
Who miss my granny, we need her at times like this
To think I prayed for the world to be back open
Just to lose both of my grandparents to COVID
